These hold more paint, are sturdier, and are harder to open accidentally.
I had a problem with some other pods opening on me when I was in the woods. I bought these and haven't had a problem with that since.
I've seen other, cheap pods get cracked by a paintball. After two years of abuse, my Dye locklids are still going strong.
Do yourself a favor, though: keep track of these pods. You chuck one of these guys and it's going to get ganked.

This pod may be a little more expensive than others but is by far the best and worth the money. Any body who hates sliding into a bunker and there pod opening and losing balls get this one. They have a bumpy texture so they dont slide out your hand when your in a fire fight and need more paintballs. As most pods hold 140 balls these hold 160 which is helpful during games. You need to press the button on it to open and that may require practice but besides that this is a great pod to get.

these pods are expensive by most standards, but worth it to any serious player. The first awesome thing about this pod is that it can hold 10-20 more paintballs than other pods. The bumpy shape makes them easy to grip so you do not drop it, wasting paint. The lock lid is also very helpful and allows you to easily open the pod quickly, which is a must in a close game. I have always liked Dye products and these pods are a solid entry to their product line . 5 stars overall for a great product.
