Spectacular Quality June 25, 2009

As an owner of this marker and one who plays with many that use it. I can tell you that it will not let you down. The things you can do to it are astounding and some what addictive.Just remember this is a woodsball gun and its only a 98 custom and no matter how much you do to it its still just going to have the performance of a 98. Watch how much money you spend on it.

Indestructable February 16, 2009

Tippmann makes a solid gun and it has remained virtually unchanged for years! There are parts and upgrades for these things everywhere. They are meant to upgrade and tippmann offers a full line to customize them to your liking. The guns are a novices dream and all woodsballers have them or have played with them. They are very very well made. You will love this gun!

Reviewer: Anonymous person from Paia, HI United States
the 98 custom is a great beginner gun. you dont need to buy batteries and worry about any electronics getting damaged. this gun is a great beginner gun. it shoots fairly straigh and acurrate. its pretty loud so you have to becareful and make your shots count. thers alot of upgrades for the 98 custom. if your a tactical kinda of person, you cant go wrong with a tippmann.

Best rent gun in the world! February 11, 2009
Reviewer: David from Norway
Nothing beats the tippmann98 when it comes to performance in the mech prize range. Our club has been using these as rentals for years.

I've used these in the cold, during winter in minus 21 celcius without chops/breaks. They are really easy on the paintballs for being a mechanical gun.

Good things:
- plenty of upgrades available
- doesn't chop
- needs very little maintenance
- good price
- hard to break these things
- easy to use

Bad things:
- lenght

this gun is possible the hardest gun to break out there. Ive dropped mine in lakes smashed it on rocks and still shoots like a tank. If woodsball and scenario games are your thing, then i would recommend you get this gun! Take my advice if you are a begginer and try it out, plus its very cheaper on ans!

This gun's a classic February 10, 2009
Reviewer: Matt J. from Dover, DE United States
I'm confident that this is one of the best guns for a beginner to start with, especially for woodsball.  I owned this gun for about 2 years and had zero problems,  not even a single broken O-ring.  A new barrel is definitely necessary because the stock one is only 8.5 inches.

tippmann has always been in my opinion the leader in hooking newcomes to the sport. my first marker was a tippmann 98 and for my small size it fit me like a glove and its great for both righties and lefties also i love the lock in hopper for those of us who run in head first it a life saver definiatly a good marker if your looking for a head start in the game

It's a Tippmann February 4, 2009
Reviewer: Nathan
First off, it's a tippmann. Its going to basically be bulletproof. It is very durable and a basic gun. It's made for begginners. The ACT is nice so you dont chop paint. I have owned this gun for a while now and it was a great buy. It is very reliable and can take a beating. If you're someone that is hard on your stuff, get this. Overall awesome gun. Get It!

The most abuse-proof marker. February 3, 2009
Reviewer: Matt from Bellingham, WA United States
This is the most durable hunk of paintball marker there is. It just might never stop. There is a reason most fields use this marker, and that is because it will keep on firing no matter what you put it through. If you want something that will never just up and die on you, get this marker.

Beginners gun February 3, 2009
Reviewer: Morgan Staurset from Porsgrunn, porsgrunn Norway
This is a awsome beginners gun. The cost is redicules low and it is easy to maintain.
And there is many upgrades to this gun that your emaginasjon can go wild and there is still alot of things you did not think of that this gun can do.
I have 1 of the earlyer modles(whit out ACT ) and i had back then no prob whit ball breack.

It is also great as a rental gun becasue of its insane low maintanence need.
This is the steaddy horse of the paintball markers on the marked.
