Good but could use upgrades June 17, 2013
Reviewer: Nate from Fox paintball il
Played once with it stock then noticed i needed a feed neck, Asa, barrel kit, and new trigger. So I put a pe Asa with mini rail, cp feed neck, cp roller trigger, and still need qev and barrel kit and then ima give it a 6 out of 5!! Little hard to work on if your under the age of 16.

Ion 2.0 May 28, 2013
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from St. Louis , MO United States
When I opened the box I was a little shocked because the box containing the ion looked beat up and heavily damaged during shipping. When I opened it the ion looked slightly worn and used. it shoots and feels to me almost like and ion xe, and for only 150$ that's a deal. The reason I give it  A full 5 stars is because mine actually came with a clamping feed neck. An added bonus, maybe for used looking parts?

Ion May 12, 2013

I got this gun and right out of the box I was impressed. I know it's cheap but it shoots just as good as an expensive gun. Iv shot over 4000 balls threw it and not one break yet. Saying this is for beginners is an understatement for this gun. I played some guys with more expensive guns this weekend and mine held its own with them. I highly recommend this gun.

All guns have the same accuracy despite the barrel, only the quality of the paint matters. Also theres no such thing as a ion pro.......If you buy this expect it to break because you are going to need to TAKE APART THE ENTIRE GUN to get the bolt out. If your a begginer you don't want to end up stripping a screw or breaking the eyes, and if you do break it your gun your left with a brick then. This was acceptable 10 years ago but for $150 this is a waste of money. There is a reason people say. "Save a rock throw a ion"

Ion and Blitz January 9, 2013
Reviewer: Ismael from Tucson AZ
Overall I believe despite the Ion being cheaper it's a better gun than the Azodin Blitz, a few weeks ago I went out and played a this field I moved by, spent half a game next to a 10 year old with and Ion, I had one ball break the entire time while he never had one, I also noticed his marker was a bit more accurate as well as having a longer range, the parts were out of box too on both markers, I later found out it was a lighter marker and not having to deal with a bolt looked really convenient so I really think I should've bought this marker

great marker November 29, 2012
Reviewer: Vinny from NJ United States
My brother has an Ion pro and I have an Eos, pretty much the exact same. Back in the day spend maybe 70 bucks more for the pro and you get an on/off asa, feed neck, and a freak barrel as well. Out of the box you don't need upgrades. If you're a beginner the Ion 2.0 is perfect. If you want a good marker for a cheap price, get this you'll be very satisfied. If you are moving up in the world of paintball then yes you'll need some upgrades to keep up with the other players. If you get a spyder rather then this marker you truly are an idiot. People started to hate on Ions after Smart Parts went under, but their just fallowing the crowd. Ions used to be and still are one of the most affordable, customizable, and efficient markers on the line. If it’s so bad that there isn’t a b.o.b on this marker and you don’t know how to take apart this marker then you shouldn’t be on the field. If you have any concerns on what to get within the price range of this gun, just get the Ion.

This gun is good i guess if you jam some upgrades into it but besides that with what comes in the box and where its priced the Azodin Blitz is better. The absents of the clamping feedneck is just enough to not buy the gun its self but the trigger is a horrid design. this gun was meant for begginers but no bolt out back? Most begginers out there wont know how to take apart the gun without damaging the eyes or the wires inside. Azodin Blitz or Spyder Fenix is a better idea then this.

Cont. you called  Ion a mid end.......ARE YOU HIGH!
The ion was designed for begginers. The company themselves who made the gun say so them selves. The board on the ion is terrible, the trigger, feedneck, and NO BOLT OUT BACK?
Any gun that needs upgrading out of the box is horrible.
Ok so the ion is $150 ON SALE plus
a feedneck $20
trigger $25
on/off asa $30
so now your half way their to an extcy and all ready at par with a envy. The only people who defend this gun are people who own it.

a very good marker! October 29, 2012

Comparing Ion to Azodin Blitz just confrims your stupidity and lack of knowledge.

I have been using Ion 1.0 for 4 years, no major problems.. only a few stupid ones where one of them most likely were a manufacturing defect. (regulator adjustment cracked shortly).
Also, O-rings.. but 4 years and i have had ONE problem with orings in the breach. im satisfied.

Anyway, this gun, to be a really nice gun need a few upgrades.

What i think is requierd to get the most out of your Ion:
- Feedneck, the stock feedneck is the worst idea ever..
- on/off ASA, to save threading and your frustration.
- Trigger, a Warrior trigger makes the gun feel alot better, especially if you want a reliable hair-trigger.

Additional recommended upgrades:
- TechT L7 bolt system

Ofcourse this gun could have been abit easier to clean, but its not a dealbreaker.
Its a CHEAP mid-end marker, that can be used by everyone! not just beginners.
(i have even bought a Ion XE .. and going to buy another Ion)

help? October 21, 2012
Reviewer: bob long
my friend is offering me an ion (i believe 2.0) with a freak barrel for $125 used. i was wondering weather or not i should get that or a GoG eXtCY for $250 im looking to upgrade either one with atleast the l7 bolt. but if i get the ion i would want a new trigger, board, and frame so it can be b.o.b(bolt out back). im just trying to see which is worth it. oh and with the extcy i'd get a new barrel too.
