ions are good markers May 13, 2012

when smartparts first came out with the ion it was intended to be cheap. thats not a bad thing people. this gun may need a little work but it does throw paint like the highend guns. i would take an ion over any milsimed out tippman anyday.  it does need some work to be a decent turney level gun.. for a 165 bucks you get a starter gun... after that upgrade the thing with a qev bolt outback clamping feedneck, asa, and a new board then you have a turney gun. i would upgraden the board last in my opinion most turneys around me have capps on bps anyway so you may not even need a new one. i give it 4 stars since i actualy have had one.

BE WARNED! May 9, 2012
Reviewer: Typical ANSGEAR from Philadelphia, PA United States
I called G.O.G. today about this marker since ANSgear states that they will be handling the warranty for this product.

G.O.G. said that they had no information about this product or the warranty; they're going to call me back later to try and fact check this products legitemcy.

Brennen, no the smart parts ion will not work well with co2, it will leak the fluid, and ruin your board. You can get a cheap HPA tank for about $40-$50 or you can get a lighter, higher pressure tank, for around $150 (2nd link) but it's up to you The most important thing to do before you buy is READ REVIEWS!!!! ION Review May 6, 2012
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Converse, TX United States
Just got the gun in about a week ago and took it to the field yesterday and all i can say is wow. People constantly state that this gun sucks and is unreliable and i disagree. I was a little nervous at first due to the negative reviews but once i started playing it exceeded my expectations. I was hitting people 100+ feet away and didnt experience one problem. Gun shoots fast and smooth with no recoil. This gun is great and i would recommend to anyone.

A REAL review! April 24, 2012
Reviewer: Jordan Schaefer from Bloomington, IL United States
The ION carries a nasty stigma with it as being the most unreliable marker  It is the subject of haters and trolls alike. Many issues people face with the gun are because of misuse or misinformation when upgrading. Many people will choose body kits that are not meant for their trigger frame, or are way to rough on their board as they take it out to clean it. The gun has fixed on many factors of horror, first and foremost the regulator. The new regulator is much more efficient then the old, and is much more consistent. The Trigger has been redefined and is not the terrible plastic knock off it was. The new ASA is much nice and forgiving then the duckbill that originally was suited to the ION.  READ THE MANUEL if you every second guess anything. Final word, The V2 is a decent improvement on its ancestor. It addresses some of the issues of the V1, but not all. For the price, it is not a bad entry level gun, but I cannot suggest it to the younger audience.
