The embodiment of affordable firepower.  Ion changed the paintball paradigm by being the first marker to deliver true electropneumatic performance in the casual paintball player's price range.  With multiple firing modes, an aggressive rate of fire, and break beam Vision anti-chop system, the Ion XE continues the Ion tradition of tournament level performance at a low price.

  • Bolt-Out-Back design makes this Ion easier to maintain than ever before. One allen wrench is all that is needed to remove the bolt sleeve, bolt and bolt stop from the rear of the marker, providing complete access to the entire bolt and valve assembly in seconds.

great beginer and intermediate marker November 27, 2008

this gun is amazingfor the price good for mostly everybody
pros-its has the bob(bolt out back) so u dont have 2 take apart the hole entire marker to clean/ lube it
-barrel is fine
-easy set up -17bps
cons-bad feed neck get a clampin feednec
-trigger is plastic wobbly
-duck bill asa:(
over  all it is a good gun for most players and will do just fine it doesnt suck:)

The main problem with the Ion are 2 things: Trigger and the Board. The boards okay, but it limits what the Ion can accomplish as a whole. And I know that my fingers hate me for having a stock trigger.

I changed my board to a Blackheart and have a NDZ trigger/FN on my Ion XE...shoots great. The barrels consistent, some people may say its bad but I personally think its adequate. If you HAVE to change something on the Ion, it should be the trigger, board, then barrel.

Ion guns are great guns. I personally have an Ion and it works wonders on the field. I fell little to no kickback and I dont tare from holding the gun.  Ions are light weight and overall a great gun. If I were you I would highly consider getting an Ion. Even if the Ion you wish to purchase is a little out of your price range you should still get it. In the long run this gun will pay for itself. I have been using Ion markers for 15 yrs and havent had a problem yet. If I were you I would highly consider buying an Ion gun for your next paint ball package

I really am not enjoying my new ion xe much. The trigger is terrible first of all, the barrel is horrid as well. And they have yet to make body kits for the xe, so i honestly think you'd be better of just buying the old one, unless you find the BOB to be very helpful, but i don't. I am trying to get rid of mine already, which is sad cuz i just bought it last week. i would stay away from ions in general.
