had my ion for three years this gun hasnt ever broke on me. shoots slow on semi. good on ramping, you have to upgrade a new feedneck barrel because the barrel is crap but good beginner gun it was my first elecronic gun and still have it. it works great everytime i have used it never had any leaks, gun shoots good smooth not very accurate unless aftermarket board. Compared to my new mini it gets smoked but that another 150 dollors but good gun wouldnt but this this gun again. speed 7 looks 7 weight 7 accuracy 7 inall id give it a 6.5 because you have to upgrade it alot to make it good but good gun last for a long time and works great.

When I was young and ions first came out, I really wanted to get one since they started at just over $300. Last year I finally picked one up off of ebay for pretty cheap to see if it was as good as I hoped it would be. It came with a board so it shot pretty fast, but wouldn't be able to keep up with other speedball guns. For the price, this gun would be worth buying for weekend play or small upgrades, but if you want to play in a tourney, you should put out a little more money to get a higher end gun.

This has got to be one of the best guns out there. The Ion is amazing for its price. Sure you can go get better guns for $600 to $1,000 but you shouldn't. I have owned a JT gun, a Tippman, and a Spyder. The Smart-Parts Ion is the best investment that I have ever made in paintball. It has an infinite number of upgrades and sick looking body kits. If you buy a virtue board with your Ion, you can match it against every other marker out there.

This gun is a good starter gun and for this price it is also very reasonable. The Ion is also one of the most customizable guns with many different upgrades for every part you can think of. With the right upgrades, this gun can perform as well as any other marker on the market today. This gun is also very reliable and requires only minor maintenance. However, when you do need to clean it, it is a hassle to open up the entire body.

I purchased my ion and instantly changed out the barrel, asa, feedneck, trigger, bolt, and installed a 360 Qev. Later I installed a dye Hyper 2 regulator. My Ion has very much so impressed me in that it has NEVER chopped, not worked correctly(except when the battery dies), I mean literally this gun has never given me problems! I like my Ion, you are kind of buying a half empty box because the feedneck, asa, and barrel are garbage. Halo hopper wont even fit in the feedneck all other are a pain to get in and out. The asa will shred the threads on your tank because it put 850 psi on them while unscrewing, and the barrel is best compared to a paper towel tube. So you are going to be putting a minimum of about $70 in upgrades into this marker, that having been said this is still a good marker. Oh ya it is not a light weight gun!
