Description Extended Information

The Ion was built to be the marker for anyone who loves the game: simple to maintain, easy to use, designed for winning. It takes abuse like a rental gun, but throws paint with the best of them. You'll get the accuracy, range and rate of fire the Pro's enjoy for just a little more money than an entry level marker. The days of having to spend tons of cash to get what you want are over.

Features
  • Our Features Presentation

    — 17 balls per second
semi-auto rate of fire with 3 shot burst, full auto and our Rebound firing mode.
    — Break-beam Vision Anti-Chop System Reliable and durable, the eyes are mounted on a separate board for perfect alignment and not affected by paint or body color. Just clean and replace (in minutes).
    — A Featherweight Prizefighter At 2.2 pounds, the Ion is among the lightest high-end markers made, and it’s tube design imparts an ultra low profile.
    — Reliability The Ion was engineered to stand up to the demands of professional players. It will outlast what used to be considered high-end and won't break down the minute you get it home.
    — Improved Ball Detents Approximately 10 times the service life of current detents.
    — Great Efficiency Expect a reliable 1000-1400 shots from a 68ci, 4500psi bottle without any modifications.

    — Body Kits A first for paintball. High-quality aluminum internals are protected by composite shells, allowing you to instantly change the color or look of your body. Tired of blue? Switch to red. Or black. Or yellow. And there are more body styles in the works...
    — Feed Tube with O-Ring Seals Fits a wider range of hoppers than most guns in this price range.
    — Tools 1/8" Allen wrench is all you need for primary disassembly--and it’s included, along with trigger and velocity adjustment wrenches and a handy parts kit.
    — Impulse Threads Take advantage of the barrels and feed tubes you may already have.

had my ion for three years this gun hasnt ever broke on me. shoots slow on semi. good on ramping, you have to upgrade a new feedneck barrel because the barrel is crap but good beginner gun it was my first elecronic gun and still have it. it works great everytime i have used it never had any leaks, gun shoots good smooth not very accurate unless aftermarket board. Compared to my new mini it gets smoked but that another 150 dollors but good gun wouldnt but this this gun again.
speed 7

inall id give it a 6.5 because you have to upgrade it alot to make it good but good gun last for a long time and works great.

decent gun February 17, 2009
Reviewer: Aaron Bowen from North East, MD United States
When I was young and ions first came out, I really wanted to get one since they started at just over $300. Last year I finally picked one up off of ebay for pretty cheap to see if it was as good as I hoped it would be. It came with a board so it shot pretty fast, but wouldn't be able to keep up with other speedball guns. For the price, this gun would be worth buying for weekend play or small upgrades, but if you want to play in a tourney, you should put out a little more money to get a higher end gun.

The best gun I have ever bought! February 16, 2009
Reviewer: Anonymous person from Liverpool, NY United States
This has got to be one of the best guns out there. The Ion is amazing for its price. Sure you can go get better guns for $600 to $1,000 but you shouldn't. I have owned a JT gun, a Tippman, and a Spyder. The Smart-Parts Ion is the best investment that I have ever made in paintball. It has an infinite number of upgrades and sick looking body kits. If you buy a virtue board with your Ion, you can match it against every other marker out there.

Reliable February 10, 2009
Reviewer: David Garcia from Milpitas, CA United States
This gun is a good starter gun and for this price it is also very reasonable. The Ion is also one of the most customizable guns with many different upgrades for every part you can think of. With the right upgrades, this gun can perform as well as any other marker on the market today. This gun is also very reliable and requires only minor maintenance. However, when you do need to clean it, it is a hassle to open up the entire body.

Gun works but is actually not that cost effective! February 4, 2009
Reviewer: Nathan  Bohm from Austin, TX United States
I purchased my ion and instantly changed out the barrel, asa, feedneck, trigger, bolt, and installed a 360 Qev. Later I installed a dye Hyper 2 regulator. My Ion has very much so impressed me in that it has NEVER chopped, not worked correctly(except when the battery dies), I mean literally this gun has never given me problems! I like my Ion, you are kind of buying a half empty box because the feedneck, asa, and barrel are garbage. Halo hopper wont even fit in the feedneck all other are a pain to get in and out. The asa will shred the threads on your tank because it put 850 psi on them while unscrewing,  and the barrel is best compared to a paper towel tube. So you are going to be putting a minimum of about $70 in upgrades into this marker, that having been said this is still a good marker. Oh ya it is not a light weight gun!
