ion markers are excellent. it does not take 500 dollars to make this marker shoot amazing. it only takes about 125$ now, if your a super paintball enthusiast like jake here. and you want everything to be top of the line because you want to go to a field and shoot 32 bps over a chrono, than yes, you can spend roughly 200+ on AAA performance parts.. but the truth is you dont need a 7 gram bolt. or an oled screen. if your going to ramp, you dont need a 35$ trigger. im a paintballer just like you. i have a small budget and a desire for reliable equipment. when ever i get a new person into the sport, i tell them to buy a BASIC ion. and then i give them this link- [http://www.ansgear.com/Ion_Board_Feed_Neck_Laser_Eyes_Bolt_QEV_Trigger_p/zionupgkit3.htm]... im not going to hog up all of this space. i am here to help new players get into the sport.. please email me at backman611@aol.com if you need help deciding on gear. just remember that ANSGEAR is the best site for ion owners

Ion guns are great guns. I personally have an Ion and it works wonders on the field. I fell little to no kickback and I dont tare from holding the gun. Ions are light weight and overall a great gun. If I were you I would highly consider getting an Ion. Even if the Ion you wish to purchase is a little out of your price range you should still get it. In the long run this gun will pay for itself. I have been using Ion markers for 15 yrs and havent had a problem yet. If I were you I would highly consider buying an Ion gun for your next paint ball package

First of all ions are terrible it takes about a good 500 dollars to make this gun shoot good. i had an ion for about 2 years till i finally realized that it just cant compete with the mid and high end guns that are bein produced now. and anyone who tries to tell you that ions are great sorry but they are wrong they are a cheap beginner guns and if you want a step up from a spyder. honestly i really dont like this gun i got it a long time agho whenever they first came out and were a decent gun and smart parts made them cheaper and cheaper and now they are the standard beginner gun now even tho this gun still shoots only 17 bps i gotta say this is prolly my fav version of the ion it comes with a reg cover which i purchased for my ion as an upgrade it gives you a slightly better grip and the trigger is an added bonus the feedneck is a must have the standard feedneck is total crap
