I truly never knew how much a chest protector could do until I actually got one. Now, I take bounces all the time, and getting bunkered is not nearly as painful as taking paint in the back with only a shirt to cover me. I’d say the only downside is that is super uncomfortable to wear without an undershirt, so I would recommend putting a shirt under it. Other than that, this is a super high quality piece of gear. HK Armt never fails to meet my expectations.
